Sam’s The Man

THE EDITOR: Isn’t it curious how the more things change, the more they remain the same? Politicians in power will broke no dissenting voice within their ranks or within the people’s institutions which they control.

Take the case of Sam who up until a year or so ago was the head honcho of a leading technology monopoly which, all through his tenure and to this day, has taken and is still taking a beating for its failure to meet its promises. The chairman of this monopoly wearing an entirely different hat as head chambermale has been jockeying the politicians to clean up the misbehaviour of some of their loyal subjects and what is his fate? Off with his head! And guess who is appointed to take his place — Sam’s The Man.

Remember the last time Sam made big news? You’re right — it was when another unafraid and independent thinker refused to allow his position at the head of another "people’s" institution controlled by the politicians to be a mere rubber stamp for what the politicians wanted done. He took in front, spoke out publicly and gave back the crown. Guess ... ok you’ve guessed ... the crown went to Sam The Man.

The strange thing is that I believe that Sam is really a very bright man — not to mention that he is kind of nice to look at — so for the life of me I cannot understand why he would allow himself to be cast in the role of complaint bridesmaid. Hmm ... life strange, eh?
