We must give to get

THE EDITOR: The reason why we are spared any national disaster like tsunamis, hurricanes, storms, etc, is simply because it is written "Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy." (Matt 5:7).

It is a more blessed thing to give than to receive, so when our country sends help whether financial or otherwise, we are recompensed by not getting more trouble than we could bear.

I take umbrage with the attitude of a certain gentleman when he wanted Mr Bush to return the money sent to help victims of hurricanes. He obviously does not understand spiritual things, as simple as, whatever a man sows that shall he also reap.

We must continue to show compassion to countries in distress so that the good Lord would continue to show compassion to us.

As a nation we cannot afford to see about everything about ourselves before we can see about another nation in dire need, because, what we make happen for others God will make happen for us. It is a spiritual law and it works.

When we continue to be generous the Lord would see to it that oil prices stay up, that the Budget will be sustained regardless of the prophets of doom whose reasoning say otherwise, so we must give and it will be given unto us.
