Panday ain’t no Gandhi
THE EDITOR: Gandhi based his earthly political power on the values of spirituality and morality; his principle of non-violence was a clear manifestation of spirit over matter. His only objectives were to free his people, establish democracy and equality. He was about self-negation and had no personal ambition other than serving his people. Gandhi never set out to establish a dynastic succession or project himself through his descendants, nor practiced any form of nepotism. Gandhi was a spinner who wove the social fabric of his people with love, not "blood, sweat and tears." Basdeo Panday ain’t no Gandhi. VASHTI PERSAD Brasso
