Watch out how you spend taxpayers’ money
THE EDITOR: Permit me to raise my concerns about the call for an open budget by the special adviser to TTFF. I am asking Government to appreciate that is taxpayers’ money that they are called upon to manage on behalf of myself and my children. This is common sense but many people seem to forget and are behaving like it is open season. In this connection I also urge that common sense and proper governance prevail in the future on a related matter. I must say here that I am one who was trampled during the rush to get tickets on the Friday just before our play-off game against Bahrain on November 12, 2005. After lining up from 5 am to purchase tickets I was shocked to see scalpers with hundreds of tickets being offered at a price three times their value, this only 15 minutes after the ticket sales gates were open and we all know who was in charge of ticket sales. It reminded a little too much of November 19, 1989. ANGUS BAPTISTE Siparia
