Yetming is correctly reading the play
THE EDITOR: I was flabbergasted to see eminent intellectuals such as Messrs Mervyn Assam, Trevor Sudama and Nizam Mohammed at a "so called" unification meeting chaired by Mr Basdeo Panday. I truly wonder if they believe that Mr Panday can win an election. Mr Panday must be laughing at them. It was Mervyn Assam who said that Panday must ride off into the sunset. On the other hand, I must recommend the others who did not show up especially Mr Gerald Yetming who described the meeting as "theatre." He added "that the only person who can benefit from such theatre is Panday. It is Panday’s tactic to gain political mileage and undermine the position of the new Political Leader Mr Winston Dookeran." I endorse Mr Yetming’s comment. He is correctly reading the play. Imagine the meeting organisers said they were unable to hold a meeting convenient to Mr Dookeran because Mr Jack Warner had to leave the country on December 3, 2005. I ask the cardinal question, "who is of more intrinsic significance — Jack Warner or Political Leader Mr Winston Dookeran?" HARRY P T CHARLIE Princes Town
