Some questions for Mr Imbert

THE EDITOR: Having read Mr Imbert’s retort to a letter written by one Mr Lloyd Cartar concerning his (Cartar’s) doubts with regard to the proposed construction of the overpass, I surely could not resist from adding my “two cents.” First of all I would like to pose to Mr Imbert some questions via your medium. My first question to the honourable minister is: How long did it take you and the government to acknowledge that our roads were congested to a point of total futility in getting to your destination on time, was in one year, two, three years? Why is it that after more than three years in office and with previous knowledge of the problem, the traffic solution has worsened with no serious step taken to alleviate such.

Which traffic engineering firms or engineers have completed their research and found that the interchange will reduce the traffic jams in and out of the capital city? What is the start and time for the construction of the Mass Transit system that you categorical stated was the solution to the problem? Will your government stand the cost of my medical bills due to stress caused by “battling” to and from work everyday. What are NP operations cost? What are their profits (since there are over 400,000 vehicles on the road with an additional sea and air market)? In the meantime, I leave with this saying, “the more things change the more they remain the same.”
