No love for women beaters
THE EDITOR: Recently I saw a woman who was a victim of domestic violence. During this predicament she repeatedly said kill me but I still love you. In Trinidad and Tobago our language is lethal, children learn the codes which excites the behaviour we call battering from our language. It is re-enforced by the brutality they observe. Women have to stop declaring love for men who beat them and are likely to murder them. The book of proverbs says: Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her. The murderous rampage and brutality endured on a daily basis is really a law enforcement problem. Policemen and Defence Force personnel are often perpetrators of these horrors.
