CXC horrors at Palms Club
THE EDITOR: The Ministry of Education conducted exams at the Palms Club, centre 160242 on January 3 and 4 in San Fernando, which was disorganised. There were many problems encountered, namely: Some of us did not receive our packages leaving the invigilators to use other means to verify personal information. We had to wait for the dirty, rickety chairs and tables to be organised in the examination room. Invigilators were numbering tables while we waited. Exams started one hour and 20 minutes later than the official start. Insufficient official CXC booklets were available, leaving the invigilators to substitute this with loose paper tied with pieces of inadequate string. Several irregularities took place concerning the start of the exams. This is a highly unacceptable performance by the Ministry of Education. Problems such as these disrupt and unsettle students leaving them to perform below their normal level. It is important that this matter must be investigated to ensure this does not happen again.
