Know thine enemy

The Editor: He appears as an angel of light, the promised Messiah, knight in shining armour

He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing, stone-hearted beast, his mission steal, kill, destroy

Enters the sheepfold as a thief at night while men are asleep, targets unprotected sheep

Reveals his true colours when body, soul and spirit are consumed with hell’s torment

Fulfill all his desires don’t resist evil, turn the other cheek go the extra mile

Open bowels of compassion, feed and clothe your enemy, care and share

Don’t withhold cloak when your coat is stolen, surrender even your reputation

Fight the good fight, do good to haters, heap coals of fire on their heads

Open heaven’s doors, take them to the limit, give unconditioned love

Be merciful, forgive those who trespass against you, light the way to peace

Bless those who curse you, reward kisses of betrayal with acts of kindness

Save your life, those who fight and run away live to fight another day

Conserve resources for the future, look into the mirror, the enemy is within

Only repentance unlocks heaven’s gates, turn the key, make amends, inherit love, joy, peace

Nothing that defiles enters, liars, blasphemers, murderers, fearful and unbelievers are cast out

Those who despise beggars att heir gates never see God’s face
