Get rid of third lane

THE EDITOR: Please fix back our Eastern Main Road in St Joseph as how you met it. The road is a two way road and two, cannot and will not go into three equally. So give us back our two lanes and we will overtake when it is safe to do so. We are accustomed to that. What is the difference between the solid white lines and the present slashed lines? The third lane is still the death lane.

If you want to do something positive to ease the massive traffic jam on the East West Corridor, make the Priority Bus Route one way going east/west and the Eastern Main Road west/east (or vice versa) from Tunapuna to Port-of-Spain. That will certainly solve the problem. Even authorised maxi taxi drivers might be happy about this, since there is a growing traffic jam on the PBR (you know, unauthorised private cars, government vehicles in abundance etc). Please try this suggestion and for the Eastern Main Road drivers’ welfare and safety — get rid of the third lane.
