Transparency Institute never said that...
THE EDITOR: Transparency Institute has never said it is against the declaring of assets. On January 19, you published a letter from G Sampson-Brown of Belmont under the heading "A new privileged class?" The writer states that "the Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute, of which Mr Reginald Dumas is the Chairman" is among a number of groups and individuals who "have all stated quite openly that they are not in favour" of the legal requirement to file declarations of assets and liabilities with the Integrity Commission. I wish to inform your readers that the Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute has never made any such statement. It would be interesting to learn the source of G Sampson-Brown’s information.
