Be your brothers’ keeper
THE EDITOR: Stop killing your brethren, put down your weapons, the battle is not against flesh and blood. Hatred is the enemy, residing within, spiritual wickedness in high places. Give it an inch, it takes a mile, consumes body, soul and spirit with bitterness and gall — Go into the highways and hedges, spread seeds of love, conquer the enemy, reap harvests of joy. Don’t withhold praise where it is due, highlight acts of kindness, don’t envy those who are good. Support the meek, those who chose poverty over wealth, selfishness and greed is the root of all evil. Guard your hearts against wolves in sheep’s clothing, those who stab others in the back. Disarm them with kindness, meet their needs before they ask, sweep them off their feet. Break ties with those who curse the poor, those who rejoice when others fall. Haters receive, never give, use labour never share profits, borrow never repay. Face the future with faith, hope, confidence, eliminate negatives, focus on positives. Take a stand against criminal activities, lead the wapy, strengthen the weakest link. Learn from the tortoise never give in to defeat, slow but steady wins the prize Those who suffer for righteousness see God’s face, good men always rise again. Search for beauty in the soul, help your brother recognise his true self worth Lift him from the gutter, restore his dignity, stop pulling others down with your tongue. MARY BAPTISTE Barataria
