Proud young people at St Mary’s Church

The Editor: It was a wonderful, intense service on Saturday 21st January as Archbishop Edward Gilbert, who was warmly welcomed and St Mary’s parish priest Fr Garth Eversley performed the confirmation ceremony for 61 youths.

They looked so immaculate. The females were dressed in all white, and males in white shirts with black pants. It was a blessing to see them in holy concentration and prayer. The church was packed with parishioners, people got there as early as 4.30 pm to secure their seats.

The service started at 6 pm, lasting for about two hours. Some of the young people read scriptures from the bible, and at the end one of the confirmed, Jerome Alexander delivered a speech. Thereafter, on behalf of all (he) gave a vote of thanks to the archbishop and parish priest.

We pray that they go forward to become professional future leaders of Trinidad and Tobago, as we yearn for a peaceful loving country and the rest of the world.
