Pushing his way into spotlight
THE EDITOR: How could Winston Dookeran a man with integrity get a chance to unite the people and prove himself when Panday keeps stealing the spotlight. Panday is not giving him a chance, he keeps pushing himself trying to win support and by doing so, he is further weakening the party. Many years ago I attended elementary school in Trinidad, there was a name for people like that; we called them "push-e-lal." It should be clear to Basdeo Panday and his few supporters that the UNC will remain as an Opposition party as long as he stays on as Opposition Leader. GLENN RAJARAM Canada
I am sure Panday knows this very well, but he chooses to stay on. There will always be infighting in the UNC as long as Panday stays on as Opposition Leader. Remember during the UNC internal elections how he criticised his fellow MPs? If Panday is interested in having the UNC win the next elections he has to remove himself as Opposition Leader and give full support to Dookeran with a vibrant new team. Time is running out and work needs to be done, the people have to be mobilised with one leader.
