‘Put Vagrant Assessment Centre in Woodbrook
THE EDITOR: Permit me a space in your newspaper to express my disgust with the Honourable Prime Minister. Why build a Vagrant Assessment Centre in Laventille? Why not build a community centre, pre-school, or put two towers for people to live in. The area is already infested with a high crime rate, not to mention it being a depressed area. You already belittle us by offering us URP and CEPEP. What’s next? But you know what, Mr PM, I am not surprised, you already said the average citizen is not affected by crime. I guess we in Laventille, Morvant aren’t the average citizen unlike yourself, surrounded by your bodyguards, and those who live in gated communities. Why not put your precious Assessment Centre in Woodbrook. There are plenty empty lots and buildings for rent there. But you know what, you would never put it there, better yet you can’t, but we in Laventille have to take that, why, that’s what you think of us. But Mr Manning the young people of Morvant, Laventille are watching your every move. Come next election the young people of Laventille and Morvant will decide. We are not accepting no crapaud in a tie. We have lost too much, we have lost brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers. Enough is Enough. H FRANKLYN Laventille
