Calypso victimisation
THE EDITOR: Dr Hollis Liverpool (The Mighty Chalkdust) laments in the media that the promise made by Minister Yuille-Williams, after he won the Calypso crown in 2005 to give him a job "at home" has not been kept. Did he really naively think that promise would have been honoured? This after a Minister publicly declare in his eulogy at his mother’s funeral that Chalkie called Dr Eric Williams a "deafie" in one of his early calypsos, so much so his Mom always held a grudge against Chalkie. How sad! Similar victimisation surrounds calypsonian Winston "Gypsy" Peters who had his contract with the Revue tent cancelled. P KING Port-of-Spain
