Houses for Whitley, Gray

TRINIDAD and Tobago footballers Aurtis Whitley and Cyd Gray have both received a two-bedroom townhouse apiece, valued at $650,000 in a gated family-lifestyle community, located in the popular crossings development of Santa Rosa West, courtesy Home Construction Limited (HCL).

The development site is located in Trincity, where a nearby PGA 18-hole golf course and country club is nearing completion at Millenium Park.

The community will also feature an on-site primary school, a community clubhouse with a swimming pool, a commercial area, hard courts, a playing field, a jogging track and well-landscaped grounds.

Making this disclosure was Lawrence Duprey, Executive Chairman of CL Financial Limited, at a media briefing at the CLICO Box, Queen’s Park Oval, St Clair yesterday.

Duprey stated that the duo was recognised for their efforts for both CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and the Trinidad and Tobago team.

Six past and present Jabloteh players were also recognised for their contribution to the club, as well as the national team, with Executive Flexible Premium Annuity Pension policies.

Angus Eve, Keyeno Thomas, Kerry Baptiste and Daurance Williams were the recipients of policies worth $50,000 each while Kelvin Jack (now based with Dundee in the Scottish Premier League) and Cornell Glen (with Colorado Rapids in the United States MLS) earned policies valued at $25,000 each.

"The idea of giving the players something that would help secure their future was an important consideration in this exercise," Duprey noted.

Also addressing the gathering, which included FIFA vice-president and Special Advisor to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) Jack Warner, was San Juan Jabloteh Director Jerry Hospedales.

Hospedales praised the contribution made to the club by Duprey.

"He was willing to identify his company with a high-risk community where anti-social behaviour was a major attraction for the community youth.

"He understood the relationship between the pursuit of excellence in sport and national building, including youth development," Hospedales said.

Other speakers at the function were Ian Garcia, Chief Marketing Director of CLICO and Anthony Fifi, Managing Director of HCL.
