Two suicides in south

Police said Harripersad’s wife Angela, reported that she left her husband at their home around 12.15 pm on Tuesday. She told police when she returned home two hours later, he was nowhere to be found.

The following day, around 9.30 am, neighbours found Harripersad’s body hanging from a sapodilla tree about 150 feet behind the house. He used a piece of rope to hang himself.

Relatives told police Harripersad was depressed but they did not know the reason for his depression. PCs Rishi Ramdass, Rawle Burke, Wilkinson and Teasdale all of Gasparillo Police Station visited the scene and are conducting enquiries. In the second incident, about 4 pm, Figaro went to the home of a female relative whom he spoke with for some time. The woman reportedly left the house and when she returned at 5 pm, found his body hanging from a rafter in a shed near the house.

A report was made to the police and the body was removed to the Forensic Sciences Centre for an autopsy. Moruga police are continuing investigations into Figaro’s suicide.
