Candlelight protest against Cedros smelter
The protestors, who sang hymns and carried candles and banners, began their procession opposite the United States Embassy on Marli Street and marched to the Office of the Prime Minister at Whitehall.
At the start of the procession, prayers were offered by Windy Mathura and Father Martin Sirju, Chatham resident, Fitzroy Beache urged them to keep up their struggle against the proposed project.
Two jeep loads of police officers kept a close watch on the proceedings but the procession was incident free.
