Couva marches against crime
Before the march prayers were offered by representatives of the Christian, Muslim and Hindu faiths, after which MP Kelvin Ramnath congratulated the committee for their initiative in sensitising and mobilising the wider community on criminal and drug abuse issues.
Ramnath said that the population could no longer tolerate the anti-social behaviour that has taken the country into an area of darkness, noting that the march should send a message to those in government. During the march, Pauline Lum Fai, mother of murdered-victim six-year-old Sean Luke of Orange Valley, said people must “come out and do something about the evils in the society.”
