Panday is yesterday’s news
Now tell what really does that prove? That the present government is not corrupt, on a wild and reckless spending spree and neglected its moral responsibility to look after the people in this country? Why is the public not informed of the millions being spent in investigating and prosecuting UNC officials — it’s more like the candle costing more than the funeral.
I really do not care if Mr Panday goes to jail or not. As far as I am concerned Mr Panday is an old man who is on his last days in politics and he is yesterday’s news.
We are at the dawn of a new era in this country, where the people will have a more active role in ensuring that the government does what it is supposed to do. We have to put this PNM and UNC experience behind us and look forward to picking up the pieces and rebuilding our country.
The way I see it, we are right now in a time that is similar to the period just before Independence.
If you think I am wrong, stop and think about what Indepen-dence from Britain really meant and the hopes and prospects for our then brand new nation.
Now, think about the sad and shameful state the country is in today and ask yourself if that was the aspiration of our “founding fathers”.
As my mother who is 81 years old (and whose mother was a pure Amerindian) often says, “pick sense from nonsense” and “your head is not only for wearing hat”.
