President’s XI 2-Grenada 0 at half-time

Jabloteh midfielder Kerry Baptiste opened the scoring in the fifth minute beating Grenada goalkeeper Desmond Noel with a ferocious left-footer just outside the box on an assist from club teammate Aurtis Whitley.

Trinidad and Tobago controlled the play for most of the first half against a Grenada team who never looked like troubling the hosts.

And in the 43rd minute Bmobile Joe Public striker Gary Glasgow accepted a through-ball from Densil Theobald to send the President’s XI two-up with another left-foot strike just before the break.

The President’s XI is coached by Leon Beenhakker who is giving several local and overseas based players the opportunity to bid for selection on the Soca Warriors team to play against Peru in a friendly international on May 10 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo.

Second and final match of the series is tomorrow from 7 pm at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.
