Hearn appeal disallowed by TTRA
Gary Hearn, trainer of Private Affair who finished third in the eighth race on the ARC Day 11 card, Republic Bank Day, lodged an appeal against the Arima Race Club stewards decision not to disqualify both winner Cinco De Mayo and runner-up Island Runner.
And according to secretary David Loregnard, following a meeting of the TTRA on Tuesday, “the board after giving due consideration to the grounds of the appeal and hearing evidence from Mr Hearn as well as that of Mr Roy Podmore steward of the club and Nela Mohammed rider of Island Runner, the authority was of the view that there was no justification to alter the decision of the stewards.”
