Panday is not just any person

Perhaps the Judge presiding over this matter is heartless by allowing himself to be persuaded by political propaganda.

Imagine giving a person the maximum penalty for a crime that does not even compare to murder, kidnapping, rape, etc. Not just any person, a man who has served this country feverishly for the past 40 years as Union President, a Prime Minister, Opposition Leader and a Member of Parliament.

Just imagine sending a man of his age and medical condition, not to mention the magnitude of service to this country to prison for not just two years, but two years hard labour.

This man has had triple bypass surgery in the past.

I truly hope that Panday’s attorneys are successful in getting an appeal.
