Abu Bakr’s case set for Oct 2

Bakr, also called Lennox Phillips, of La Puerta Road, Diego Martin, is charged with conspiring to kill two expelled members of the Jamaat at a house at Citrine Drive, Diego Martin on June 4, 2003. He also faces charges of sedition, terrorism, endeavouring to provoke the breach of peace and two counts of incitement to demand property with force, arising out of his sermon during Eid celebrations at the Jamaat Mosque in Mucurapo on November 4, 2005.

At yesterday’s hearing Bakr was represented by attorney Celeste Jules, while Director of Public Prosecutions Geoffrey Henderson and attorney Tricia Hudlin appeared for the State.
