URP cheques to Arima long over due

I would like the Minister of Local Government to investigate the delay in receiving requested cheques from the Unemployment Relief Programme.

Since Carnival week we are constantly going to the Unemployment Relief Programme Arima office for our cheques, fortnight after fortnight and still to no avail.

We want our money. We are single parents looking to buy food for our children and we can’t even get our money. They keep telling us that the cheques are coming from Kent House but it seems as though Kent House is not sending the cheques to Arima.

Please Mr Minister, could you please look into this matter for us poor people? We need our money desperately.
