Schol offer for poor students

The scholarship is in honour of the late founding member of Citizens for a Better Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT), Balram-Singh who was well known for his religious, social and community work spanning five decades.

His wish was for a scholarship fund that would ensure poverty did not prevent deserving students from pursuing higher education.

Natalie Samaroo, a student pursuing a BSc Degree in Environ-mental and Natural Resource Management in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, was the first recipient of the scholarship.

She received a year’s free rent toward her studies at the University of the West Indies.

Interested students can call 652-8060 for more information.
