Man struck dead on highway

According to police, the man is said to be about 60 years old and of mixed descent, five feet eight inches tall, with grey eyes.

The man was wearing a black t-shirt and long black pants.

The accident which occurred just after 2.30 pm brought traffic to a crawl as curious onlookers tried to get a glimpse of the body on the road. An eyewitness said the car which struck the man was heading into Port-of-Spain when the man ran across the road.

The eyewitness said when he got close to the man, he was still alive, but the man died later in the arms of a woman.
