Manning vindicated

“The PNM welcomes the confirmation by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council of the superior judgment of Mr Manning in managing the affairs of TT,” the release said.

The Privy Council on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit instigated by former Attorney General, Ramesh Maharaj SC, which sought to question the judgment of Manning during the 18-18 period.

The Balisier House release said, “Not only did the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council reject the arguments of Mr. Maharaj SC, but it also went on to praise Mr Manning, stating, ‘The Board also considers that the respondent, whose conduct has been publicly stigmatised as unconstitutional, is entitled to be publicly vindicated.’”
