Used car dealer escapes
The 29-year-old of Caura was taken to the Sangre Grande Hospital where he was treated and warded.
Police said no ransom was paid for Rattan’s release. According to reports, Rattan told his wife, Nisha, that he would meet her at his El Socorro workplace on Wednesday afternoon.
She became worried when he failed to show and tried to contact him on his cell phone. She later received a phone call from a man who demanded a $1 million ransom for her husband’s safe release.
A report was made to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS). Rattan is the third used car dealer reported to be kidnapped in recent weeks. The others were released unharmed.
The Eastern Division police and the AKS are investigating.
