Texas couple robbed, shot

According to a police report, at about 5 pm Kevin Prince, 48, and his wife Susan, 46, were accosted by four men dressed in army-type camouflage jackets in the driveway of their Las Lomas No 1 home. One of the men, police said, was armed with a gun.

The couple was ordered out of their Toyota Corolla car by the bandits. One of the men snatched Susan’s handbag while the armed bandit fired two shots hitting Prince on the left side of the neck, while his wife was struck on the right hip.

The bandits then escaped by running through nearby bushess. Police said that the couple returned home after attending service at a nearby church. After an alarm was raised, the couple was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mt Hope in an EHS ambulance, where they were treated. They were then transferred to Medical Associates Nursing Home where they were up to yesterday warded in stable condition. Police officers including Insp Stephen Ramsubhag, PC Jit Toolaram, Cpl Kirk Shepherd, PC Solomon Balkaran and PC Ivan Nicholls from Chaguanas CID and Cunupia Police Station, visited the scene. Up to late yesterday, no arrests had been made and Insp Ramsubhag is spearheading investigations.
