Arima school set for Monday restart

The incident forced school administrators to dismiss classes at about 11 am and the school remained closed yesterday. The students were sent to the Arima District Hospital where they were treated and discharged.

Newsday was told health inspectors visited the school yesterday from 8 am to 12 noon. A school supervisor was also present as well as Arima Mayor Eustace Nancis. The inspectors interviewed several members of staff and the cleaners, but at the end of their visit could not determine the cause of the students’ illness.

Newsday was told several theories were discussed including the mixing of cleaning products used at the school, which could have affected the students.
