Daniel launches CD in church

Titled “Arrive Oh Lord,” the CD has 12 songs, most of them written and sung by Daniel himself. The launch takes place at Third Avenue, (next to the Himalaya Club), with host pastor being Bishop Gary George.

The evening’s entertainment will also feature Isaac Blackman, Michelle Modeste, Larry Pierre, Jay Dee, Jonathan Bachu and dynamic teenage gospel sensation, Winsie Ann Cuffie.

Winsie Ann, 14, daughter of Pastor Dr Winston Cuffie, will deliver her newest gospel soca song “Say Yeah.” This high-energy song is geared towards inspiring people to take a positive outlook on life and to stand boldly on the promises of God to have their dreams realised. She will also perform “Jesus I Love You” and her warfare song, “Taking My Miracle.”

Daniel, 30, of Tunapuna has been singing calypso since the age of five, and has been recording songs for the past nine years. He is a member of the Faith Revival Time Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Bertril Baird and Pastor Luis Cave. The singer is happily married to Venessa and is the father of nine-month-old son, Christian.

His past two CD albums included “Divine Soca” and “Healing Time.” He copped both the Young Kings and Stars of Tomorrow titles this year with his winning composition “True Government”, which dealt with the crisis in leadership currently facing this country.

The former San Juan Calypso Monarch also won the Unattached Calypso Monarch titles in 1999 and 2000. His group, Island Christians, has won several regional awards, including five Marilyn Music Awards in the Bahamas, a Best Foreign Artiste Award in Barbados and the Sunshine Award for Caribbean music. His music range also includes contemporary/ballards, R&B, chutney/bangra, jamoo, soca and ragga soca.

In, reaching out to the nation’s youths, Daniel advised them to find good father figures and role models.
