Interconnection ruling today
Gobin was expected to deliver her judgment yesterday, but was asked by TSTT attorney Martin Daley SC for time to respond to new submissions filed by counsel for the arbitration panel and Digicel.
The panel and the Irish telecom company had made further written submissions on May 2.
The panel was appointed by the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) on March 31 to resolve the interconnection dispute between both telecom companies. The panel agreed to make an interim decision when it failed to determine final interconnection rates by its April 18 deadline.
The dispute was taken before the courts when TSTT filed an application requesting leave for judicial review against the arbitration panel’s decision.
Attorney Christopher Hamel-Smith SC appeared for Digicel, while attorney Deborah Peake SC appeared for the arbitration panel.
