St Augustine man found murdered

He appeared to have been stabbed.

Police reports revealed the body of Anil Jadoo, of Dookiesingh Street, St Augustine, was discovered by a relative who contacted the Tunapuna police. The body was viewed by a district medical officer and ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre.

Police investigators told Newsday that Jadoo had complained about threats against his life by a woman he knew.

Up to yesterday, 134 people had been murdered for the year. Sixty-six persons have been held and questioned in connection with those murders, of which 24 have been solved.

Newsday learnt that six of the 39 United Kingdom officers contracted by Government to assist in the fight against crime have already been assigned to the Homicide Bureau.
