Hillpiece upsets Young Lions
Batting first, Hillpiece who were indebted to an aggressive 65 from Ravi Samaroo, were able to record 181 for six in their allotted 30 overs.
They then bowled out Young Lions for 116 with prolific batsman Ashraf Ali failing to make an impression.
Lower down the road in Hermitage it was another Ravi, this time, Ravi Rampersad who stole the show with a hurricane 90 for Hermitage Youth Organisation.
His team was able to record a massive 310 all out against OJs who were restricted to 240 all out in reply.
At Cedros, Woodland were awarded for the long trip as they defeated the home team by six wickets. Cedros made 133 for nine in 30 overs with Junior Headley topscoring with 34. The evergreen Wazir Bally was the chief wicket-taker for Woodland ending with three for 34. Woodland then romped to victory at 134 for four.
In the toughest battle of the day, Clarke Rochard overcame a difficult Rousillac United by four wickets.
Rousillac made 177 all out with S Ramcoomarsingh getting 37. Robin Regoonanan then scored 62 to pace his team to 178 for six and a place in the semi-finals.
