New US visa rules

Effective June 1, applicants under age 14 must present the new computer-generated birth certificate issued by the Registrar General’s Office during their interview.

Children’s applications must also include a photo. Additionally, as of April 3 this year, the embassy said all applications for student visas (categories F and M), must be made 120 days prior to the date stated on their I-20 forms.

Applicants for student visas must appear for their interview between 7.30 and 10.30 am, Monday through Thursday. Such applicants do not require an appointment but must pay the US$100 application fee at any TTPost location.

Applicants for these visa categories must also complete their application forms electronically. Check the website at https://evisaforms.stagte.gov/ds156.asp.
