Free comic books for hospitals

Linsday Merritt, Secretary, said, this was an initative of the Marvel Comic Group in the United States. “They supply comic books collectors from all over the world with free comic books so that they could be distributed to promote literacy among the youths. During the coming weeks we would issue more comic books to the national libraries and to the pediatric wards at the hospitals,” he explained.

The venue was crowded as children of all ages were filled with excitement as they tried to decide which two comic books they wanted.

Adults were busy browsing the different comic books and comic characters memorabilia that they had on sale. Teenagers were heard having heated debates on the latest issue of their favourite comic books. One parent said that she started buying comic books a while ago for her daughter. “It encourages my daughter to read. She has been doing excellent in her school work. I recommend to parents that they should buy comic books, it helps.”
