Minister says strive for excellence
She based her call on the fact that the Government had brought to the table through the University of Trinidad and Tobago, an array of tertiary education programmes to enhance the skills, knowledge and competencies of secretaries and administrators.
Sahadeo urged them to explore the several options available to make their lives much more fulfilling. She also stressed the need for the participants to have a strong family support system to aid them in their quest for excellence.
Sahadeo spoke at Secretaries and Administrative Professionals Week which was marked by a Special Outreach Programme, mounted by the Co-operative Credit Union League of Trinidad and Tobago at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya.
The programme attracted over 91 participants drawn from commercial houses, Government agencies and the credit union sector.
It was designed to sensitise the attendees on the professional opportunities available in the emerging and expanding economy.
Another speaker at the event was consultant Irma Cadogan.
She indicated that secretaries and administrative professionals must never be content with their current status, and should endeavour to enter the realm of management as they move up the ladder in their organisations and enterprises.
