Teams chase $14,000

MORE than $14,000 will be at stake in this year’s bgTT Tyro Sports Club Windball Cricket series.

And 18 teams, 15 men’s and four women’s teams will be vying for the winner’s prize money of $2,000 along with a trophy and replica.

The men’s teams have been sub-divided into two groups, with the top teams in each group getting $1,000 each. And the runners-up in both the men and women Big 8 series will get $1,500 each.

There will also be a knockout series with the winners in each category getting $1,000 and the runners-up $500. Individual prizes are also at stake with the scorer of most runs getting $100 each; Most Wickets $100 each; First hat-trick $100 each and First beaver trick $100 each. The batsman or woman scoring most runs in the entire competition will collect $100 and the player adjudged most valuable in the league final gets $100. The most disciplined team will collect a trophy and $100, while trophies will go to the best uniformed; best captain; and best manager.

Teams vying for the prizes are: Men — Group A — Tyro; Jaggan United; Critix; Old School; Santa Cruz United; Bescrete; United Progressors; Five Rivers Artilleros. Group B — Drifters; Poison; Xterminators; Blazers United; San Juan San Juan; Puncheon Outlaws; Pittisburg United.

Women teams: Desert United; Rebirth; Bless United; TT Ex-Nationals.
