Evening of belly dance

The evening will be a glimpse into the dance company’s major “belly dance” show carded for next year.

The company will present belly dance pieces showcasing the different styles of this sensual oriental dance at the Lure in Chagua-ramas.

The N9 Dance Co was founded by Nalini Akal on the ninth day of the ninth month, 1999.

The N9 dance studio at 28 New Street, Port-of-Spain was formed five years ago. Since then company has been the leading “belly dance” instructional centre as well as the leading belly dance group in Trinidad and Tobago.

The studio conducts classes in Egyptian Raqs Shar qui (Belly dance), Latin dance (salsa, meringue, tango, samba etc), East Indian contemporary, hip hop and flamenco. Rachel Baptiste Lee and Trishawn Parris are instructors.

“The evening of belly dance is a true celebration of womanhood and what better time than the day before mother’s day,” the company said in a media release.
