Man shot dead

The murder toll now stands at 147 after a Laventille man was shot dead at his St Paul Street home, on Tuesday night.

According to reports, around 11.00 pm, Paul Cedeno, 18, was standing in front of the apartments when a lone gunman shot him. Cedeno died on the spot. Investigators believe it was an act of revenge. The body was viewed by the District Medical Officer who ordered the corpse removed to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, police are seeking assistance in identifying the body of a man of African descent that was found in the Blanchisseuse Road, Arima River.

According to reports, around 7.00 pm, the Arima Police received information from an anonymous caller that there was a body in the river.

Upon investigating a decomposed body was found lying face down in two feet of water.

The man is of light coloured complexion and approximately five feet eight inches tall. He was wearing a black jersey and a red pants.
