Music and dance from ‘Awesome Twosome’

The event which begins at

8 pm on Sunday at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya, is entitled “Awesome Twosome” and will see the two artistes at their best.

Bheem remains one of the most versatile singers with the ability to sing all types of songs from heart wrenching melodies to up-tempo bhangara types, modern filmy and the ever popular oldie goldies from the Bollywood movies.

Salickram and the CLICO Shiv Shakti Dancers, have been working for several weeks towards this big event. More than 50 dancers will perform pieces ranging from modern to classical items. The dance group is well known for their elaborate costumes, stage production, dancing skills and creativity. For the first time too, there will be a full orchestra put together by Bheem and includes ace saxophonist Lutchman Bissoon who will also render some golden classics.

Bheem’s mum Premattee Bheem will join her celebrated son on stage in a true demonstration of a son’s love for his mother. The “poosungie girl” Arti Butkoon will head a cast of upcoming and rising female singing stars.

The 16th annual Mother’s Day Concert is being sponsored by Newsday, Lion Baking Powder and Ibis Flour manufactured by NFM, Hi-Lo Food Stores, KFC, NLCB, Guardian General and Dairy Dairy Milk.
