Pray for my friend

He tells people that Christ is just one of many incarnations or sons of God. He was not the son of God, He was no more divine than any other man and He did not die for man’s sins. I have no problem with my friend for what he believes, but when I tell people that Christ is the only begotten Son of God, He is God as well as man, sinless and He died for our redemption — Jn 1:13-14; 10:30, my friend is annoyed with me.

He tells people that man is justified through devotion, meditation, good works and self-control and I have no quarrel with him. When I tell people that man is justified through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ Rom 3:4, 1 Cor 15:3, my friend is annoyed with me.

When I speak the truth by letting people know I visited obeah men for many years of my life and I know of many people throughout this land who practise witchcraft, my friend says I am casting aspersions against our country.

When I tell people their health could be restored through the healing power of Jesus Christ, my friend says I could be charged in the courts under the Summary Offences Act Chap 11:02, S43(1).

I am not annoyed with my friend when he goes to the forest, cuts down a tree, carves out a statue from the log and prays to it as his God but when I left Hinduism and turned to Jesus, refusing to worship idols which I did for years, my friend is annoyed with me.

When I preach Jesus Christ is the only way and not one of the ways I am accused of disturbing the harmony that no longer exists among the various religious groups in TT.

Finally, when my friend brings people from abroad to preach what he believes is true, I pray for God to open his understanding. When I want to bring my people to preach what I know is truth, my friend is appealing to the Prime Minister to prevent it.

The only answer for TT lies in Jesus Christ. Righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people — Prov 14:34. I pray that God would help us know what righteousness is and what sin is. In the meantime, please join with me and pray for my good friend.
