Super Goose sails with President’s Cup
The General Handicap event had not only Cruisers taking part, but Laser Radials, Laser Standards, MR-15s and Optimists as well. In second place was veteran sailor Rawle Barrow with his crew in Petit Careme while Andrew Lewis in his Laser Radial came in third.
Next was fellow Radial sailor Alan Alkins in fourth place. Rounding out the top five of the 26 competitors was Stuart Leighton in another Laser Radial, showing that they are excellent competitors. The day’s conditions were sunny with winds coming from the south-east at about 12 to 15 knots. In the Optimists Class it was Nicholas Knox taking the Junior President’s Cup ahead of Alexander Weedon, Wesley Scott, James Leighton, Nicholas Landreth-Smith, and Mark Peters in that order.
The President’s Cup race brings to a close a wonderful local racing season at the Trinidad and Tobago Sailing Association.
The Trinidad and Tobago Sailing Association has extended their appreciation to their sponsors who have made regattas successful throughout the season.
The next big event is the Angostura Tobago Sail Week starting on Sunday and continuing to May 19 in the sister isle.
