Polish man electrocuted at sea

Pedziwatr was employed as a deckhand and pipe-fitter on the MV Lake Erie. Yesterday, the vessel which transports direct reduced iron from Point Lisas Industrial Estate to Canada, docked approximately three miles off the estate’s port at around 2 am.

A party of officers, accompanied by DMO Dr Indarjit Birjah journeyed out to sea where the body was ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre. Police reports stated that last week Friday, Pedziwatr was electrocuted when he came into contact with high voltage wires while another worker on the vessel was welding.
