Sports reporter’s brother dies

After ailing for just under a year, Alibey lost the battle against cancer on Friday last at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.

He leaves to mourn his common-law wife Jenny De Gasson and two children Mark and Kevon, as well as brothers Walter, Allan, Desmond, Vernon, Wensworth and Roger, and his sisters Rhonda, Sharon, Rosslyn, Jacqueline, Cherry and his father Oswald Alibey senior as well as other family members and friends. He was an air-conditioning and refrigeration technician at the Trinidad Hilton Hotel for the past three years and prior to this, worked at Bel Air International Hotel as well as at CARIRI.

The funeral for the late Oswald Alibey Junior will take place today 2 pm at the Arouca Roman Catholic Church, at the corner of Eastern Main Road and Waterloo Road. He will be laid to rest at the church’s public cemetery. Junior’s youngest sister Lezan also died tragically, in an accident in 1995.
