Valley opens trade convention
Now in its seventh year, TIC has become a calendar event which brings hundreds of local, regional and international business persons and buyers together to provide the environment for existing business relationships to be strengthened and new ones to be forged.
Officials of the groups organising TIC — TTMA, RBTT and Ministry of Trade and Industry — indicated that with hundreds of overseas buyers already registered for the convention and thousands of local buyers expected to attend over the next three days, it is estimated that more than US$20 million in trade, resulting from deals struck on the trade show floor, could happen.
TIC will feature TT’s manufacturing sector and also exhibits from Austria, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom and Jamaica.
A wide spectrum of goods is expected to be on display at the Centre of Excellence over the next three days ranging from financial services to pharmaceuticals.
TIC will also feature a series of business education seminars, one of which takes place tomorrow on the theme: “Building corporate social responsibility.”
