Abuse of sirens
Doesn’t it seem rather odd that every day, at these peak traffic times, there is an emergency that requires an ambulance to use its siren to barrel its way through traffic that everyone else has to endure.
Worse yet, endangering the rest of the travelling and motoring public with the wanton disregard to public safety with the way in which they attempt to negotiate their way through the traffic.
The result of this abuse of sirens is that now the motoring public has a tendency to disregard and ignore these sirens and not move over quickly enough to make way for them.
It is sad to think that in the case of a real emergency some unfortunate person may have to suffer the consequences of the abuse of this mechanism that is supposed to be used only in the case of genuine emergencies.
A siren should not be used by any authority to facilitate an ease of passage through traffic unless there is a genuine emergency that requires its use.
