CD ON FIRE AND RAIN
Fire and Rain is a compilation of various artistes and actually 14 different singers were recorded on the disc.
He linked up with Kayfi Benjamin in Trinidad who has introduced him to several local artistes Bell is very pleased with what he has been hearing.
He feels that Trinidadians like reggae music more than Jamaicans. He said, “I will be working with two local artistes, Jah Defender and Prince of Judah. I will record them here go back to Jamaica to master the disc and send it out from there.
“I want to forge a link between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.”
Two songs written by Bell “I and I” sung by Jahmali and “Fire and Rain” by Warrior King have been receiving very good airplay on local radio stations.
This is by no means Bell’s debut; he has two other “riddims” out on the market. The first is the “Different World” riddim featuring Anthony B, Norris Man and Iyashant and the second is the “Rise Up” riddim with Jah Mason and Norris Man.
He is currently working on the “Light Up” riddim which will feature Yhantin Ight and African.
Bell said coming up with the riddims is not very difficult as he arranges them on his computer. The second step is to get musicians to play the music live to get that feel. He records at the popular Tuff Gong and Music Works studios in Jamaica and hopes to get into video recordings as well as photo shoots.
Bell’s aim is to go to any island in the Caribbean and record an artiste and give the music a chance.
He said, “All youths throughout the Caribbean have the same cry and they use reggae music as their means of expression. Everybody has a song.
“I want to establish Yahbell Entertainment throughout the Caribbean starting with Trinidad and Tobago.”
Bell also said that Trinidadians buy Jamaican music long before his fellow Jamaicans.
Born in Kingston but now resides in Port More, 30-year-old Bell’s words of advice to all young producers are “You have to love it, you know what you want but many times you cannot afford it but all you need is one good song and you will get off the ground.”
